Parking Exemptions
The City of Burlington does not allow on-street parking in excess of 5-hours or overnight between 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. In special circumstances (e.g. home repairs or guests), persons may request a parking exemption.

How does a parking exemption work?
  • each exemption is based on a 24 hour period (for example, a 2 day exemption will remain in effect for 48 hours from the initial start date and time noted in the request).
  • it allows any plated vehicle including an RV, motorcycle or trailer to park on the street beyond the 5-hour limit or overnight between 1 a.m. to 6 a.m., up to 15 days per calendar year, per licence plate.
  • the only two parking offences waived AFTER a vehicle including an RV is registered for a parking exemption are:
               1.  park exceeding 5-hour limit
               2.  park between 1 a.m. to 6 a.m.
  • all other parking offences apply as they are not part of the parking exemption program.
